Paiute ATV Trail 01 from Salina to Koosharem

Trail 01 from Salina to Burrville onto Koosharem is on dirt roads except for the trail from Salina to where it crosses I-70 is paved. It is rated easy with some sections more difficult.  The trail was graded until Rex Reservoir.  After that is had some rocks in the road every once in a while but for the most part it is smooth.  Trail 9 goes east off of 01 at I-70.  This trail will take you to Gooseberry trail system.

Then 2 1/2 mile south of I-70 is trail 47 turn off.

You then continue done trail 01 until you come to a y intersection.  Go to the left.  You will now start to climb up in elevation to Rex Reservoir.

Rex is used for irrigation and was pretty low in Aug.  The road conditions did change a little but not much from Rex Reservoir to where the trail intersects trail 56.  Trail 56 provides access to the Great Western Trail.  Continuing south on 01 the road you start going down in elevation until you come to the intersection with trail 55.  Trail 01 then continues to the dam of Koosharem Reservoir and on into Burrville where the other end of trail 55 connects.  There are two forest roads 616 and 619 just before the dam that goes east to the Mytoge Mountain trails and Fish Lake.  Burrville is the home of mostly families with the last name of Burr.  It is the smallest town in Sevier County.  There is only homes there.  The trail then goes on in to Koosharem and is rated easy.  Koosharem has a gas station and a very good cafe.
