Mount Pleasant Arapeen ATV Trail System

The canyon east of Mount Pleasant is a fun ATV trail but is very steep and not for trailers.  From State Street in Mount Pleasant take 200 S east to the mouth of the canyon.  At the mouth of the canyon is a city campground with bathrooms and a few camping spots.  There is also a small park with some picnic tables next to the campground.  There is a few primitive camping spots up the canyon but not many.  The canyon is to steep to pull a trailer up to the Skyline Drive.  If your going to camp up the canyon I would drive the ATV up the canyon to find a camping spot and then pull up the trailer.  Most of the lower canyon is private on both sides of the road with no trespassing signs posted.  There is no side trails to explore.  There are better canyons to camp at in my opinion.  There is a nice loop trail from Mount Pleasant up forest road 037 to the Skyline Drive Arapeen Trail 1 south to Arapeen Trail 4 west down to Spring City.  Then return back to Mount Pleasant on main road.  The loop is about 40 miles.     You can drive on town roads except main street while driving slow.  The picture was taken at the top of Mount Pleasant and Skyline Drive.
